Breakfast Overnight Oats

As a mom, I’m lucky to be able to make an egg or even grab a granola bar for breakfast. With two little ones in the morning my priority is always them and before I know it- its noon and I realize all I had was coffee and no breakfast. For someone who took nutrition I know this is NOT how you are supposed to start your mornings. Your supposed to eat like a King/Queen for breakfast, a prince/princess at lunch and a pauper for dinner. So I am definitely doing it backwards. I remember when I was pregnant with my second boy and was in my third trimester, I was so tired and taking care of Brody was enough but knew I needed food for baby and me when it came to my mornings. I prepped overnight oats on Sunday night so I would have breakfast ready to go for the week. These are usually served cold but you can warm them up if you prefer. I really enjoy overnight oats cold during the summers since it is so hot out! I hope that you try these… whether your a stay at home mom/dad needing a quick breakfast or a working man/woman needing to grab something healthy out the door. Feel free to add flaxseeds or chia seeds to yours for health benefits!

Ingredients:
Pint Size Jelly Jars is what I used but feel free to use whatever you have

1/2 cup of Rolled Oats in each jar

1/2 cup of Coconut Almond Milk ( or whatever you prefer) in each jar

Cinnamon

Honey

Cherries ( or whatever fruit you prefer or have on hand), chopped

Directions:

Put 1/2 cup of rolled oats into each jar, then pour 1/2 cup of milk into the jars.

Then, sprinkle cinnamon and 1/2 pump of honey or 1/2 a spoonful of honey into jars. I take a spoon at this point and swirl the honey and cinnamon into the oats.

I pitted and chopped my cherries into the top to finish off mine. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to add anything to help with your health like chia seeds or flaxseeds.refrigerate overnight through the week!

ENJOY!
